Day 01: Arrive Leh
Early morning board flight to Leh. Upon arrival at the Leh Airport, you will be received by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take lunch and relax. Since you are arriving at 11000 ft, we strongly recommend taking complete rest on the first day where you should not indulge yourself in any strenuous activity. Rest of the day is free to acclimatize to the high altitude of Leh. Lunch, Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel
Day 02: LEH: EXCURSION TO SHAM VALLEY (60 KMS/APPROX 02 HRS ONE WAY)
After breakfast, depart for the beautiful Sham valley. En route Visit Spituk Monastery, Ladakh Hall of Fame, Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and Confluence of Zanskar and Indus River. Post this gets dropped to hotel and enjoys lunch at the local restaurant of your choice (on direct payment basis). Later in the evening visit Shanti Stupa, followed by Light & Sound show, close to Hall of Fame (subject to weather conditions/technical reasons). Return back to hotel and spend time at leaisure. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel.
Day 03: LEH – KHARDUNG LA - NUBRA VALLEY (140 KMS / APPROX 05-06 HRS)
Today post breakfast check out of the hotel & we will start our journey to Nubra Valley through Khardungla, which is the World's highest motor able road at 18,832 feet above sea level. At Khardungla pass, experience the snow capped peaks and the mountain which gives amazing view. Drive through the Valley which is extremely beautiful for photography. Nubra Valley is the Oasis of Ladakh as you see some colourful trees in this region. Arrive Nubra and enjoy adventurous ATV ride (on complimentary basis, one time). Later reach your camp, spend leisure time. Later in the evening, enjoy bonfire at the camp (subject to weather conditions) and take a walk in the vicinity of camp. Dinner and Overnight stay at the camp.
Note: The Khardung La pass may remain close till first week of May. In that case the tourist will do excursion to Khadung La and stay at Leh in place of Nubra Valley on day 03 & 04.
Day 04: NUBRA VALLEY
Our trek for today will be easy, despite the fact that it involves climbing up to a pass. Both ascent and descent will be on gentle slopes. We will trek to north, dipping down a bit and then crossing a stream ascending west to Tsermangchan La (3750 meters). We will climb down to Hemis Shukpachan after crossing the pass. There are several streams bordered by shady willows and large barley fields.
Note: Alternatively, you can opt for day trip to Turtuk (northern most last village of India at Indo-Pak border) or visit to Siachin Base Camp (newly opened for tourists) at additional cost (needs to be confirmed in advance) Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Day 05: NUBRA TO PANGONG (165 KMS / APPROX 06-07 HRS TOTAL)
After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake at 14, 500 ft. via Agham & Shyok village and reach Pangong Lake. Pangong, the highest salt water lake in the world. Take in the breath-taking views and setting of the blue lake set amidst the lofty Himalaya Mountains. A popular location for many Bollywood movies, enjoy some unique moments and don’t forget to click some nice pictures. Check in to your respective camps and enjoy lunch. Evening at your own leisure. Spend time clicking picturesque memories by lakeside. Dinner & Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 06: NUBRA TO PANGONG (165 KMS / APPROX 06-07 HRS TOTAL)
After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake at 14, 500 ft. via Agham & Shyok village and reach Pangong Lake. Pangong, the highest salt water lake in the world. Take in the breath-taking views and setting of the blue lake set amidst the lofty Himalaya Mountains. A popular location for many Bollywood movies, enjoy some unique moments and don’t forget to click some nice pictures. Check in to your respective camps and enjoy lunch. Evening at your own leisure. Spend time clicking picturesque memories by lakeside. Dinner & Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 07: LEH LOCAL SIGHTSEEING & MONASTERY TOUR (80KMS ROUND TRIP)
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens (Stupa) to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Return back to hotel and relax. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08: DEPARTURE FROM LEH
After breakfast, depart to Leh airport to board the flight back for onward journey with beautiful memories.
